Today’s court ruling is what we’ve been warning about for months: Trump is unlawfully using the military to terrorize Americans, including kids and hardworking immigrants — many of whom have contributed to this country and are part of American families.
California refuses to be scared into submission by the small men in the White House. No one in their right mind thinks the Trump Administration should launch yet another failed LA militarization.
We are filing a request for a preliminary injunction to block the extension of soldiers’ deployment in Los Angeles through Election Day. There was never a need — and there is certainly no need now — for troops to be deployed against their own communities.
Trump can't justify keeping the military in Los Angeles. They want to continue their intimidation tactics to scare Californians into submission. We won't back down.
What we’re witnessing in this country is textbook authoritarianism. Trump thrives on targeting those who are least able to defend themselves, exerting control and cruelty to tighten his grip on power. To think it ends here is naive. We cannot let this go on any further.
