I get the opposite. I started dressing more femme and now everyone gets my gender right. I wonder in my case if my body language and confidence also shifted at the same time.
Yea I wish we could go to Rust but our industry is quite conservative when it comes to languages (pretty liberal in other ways though).

The contradiction at the heart of transmisogyny has always been that people will insist they don't see us as women while treating us exactly like women, and specifically as women they are entitled to sexually exploit or brutalize.
Most biological sex characteristics that we currently can't change are less down to scientific impossibility than technical knowhow not being there yet. For instance, transphobes love to go on about gametes, but research has confirmed in principle that XY mammals producing viable eggs is possible.

Like, there’s a reason why despite naming it ‘gender dysphoria’, a lot of criteria have nothing to do with being dysphoric. It’s not about trying to facilitate transition for people unhappy with their embodiment. It’s about deciding who’s a freak enough that something has to be done.
Also, for the avoidance of doubt, no, I don’t believe that there’s some threshold of how unhappy you have to be with your embodiment for it to be okay for you to transition. Everybody who wants to should be able to.

It's the fact they completely erase trans women's biology that gets me. Even my blood test results would look wrong if you compared them to my 'biological sexs' reference ranges.
Usually a very specific part of biology is being used to ignore all the other ways the person in questions biology is not male.

I do wish people would treat transphobia as the serious red flag it is, because if someone is repeating bullshit pseudoscience talking points from right wing cranks, that's just as bad as conceding to anti-vax nonsense and undermining trust in science and medicine, alarm bells should be sounding!
Same to both of you. I have cis friends who are doing there best to be supportive and a supportive partner. My mental health even with that is the worst it's been since I transitioned and it's a really struggle just getting through the day.

I'm out to some of my work colleagues and one of them literally forgot again that I was trans recently.
I think it's increasingly important to remember that yeah, a lot of us *do* need to physically transition to SURVIVE, period.
I know it's a nuanced issue, but I'm disturbed how often I encounter trans folks that held off on HRT for years because they kept getting told that you don't need to physically transition to be trans whenever they tried to discuss their dysphoria with other trans folks.
And they don't even realise how much Starmer is tanking labour in the polls here.

One of my biggest allies is a working class cis woman.
So much of it seems to be held back by people in power wanting us to suffer for no reason as it's better for everyone involved to get treatment. I think there are a lot of parallels between trans healthcare and ADHD treatment in that respect. That reminds me I really need to get diagnosed for ADHD.
Like I didn't have a lifetime of being closeted to unpack or multiple relationships I just had dysphoria getting worse and worse through my 20s till everything spectacularly fell apart by about 25. By the time I transitioned I was already heavily gender non-conforming.
The one I was on was loosely defined as gen-X/Y which was much better as I had more in common with the younger crowd as I barely survived my 20s.
Yep it definitely felt like it back at the time. The people I was around back then were talking about being transfem and butch, doing everything your own way and not following rules.
I think the sight I found in the late 00s had a younger crowd and was much better. There was also this weird division between younger (20s) and older (50-60s) transitioners back then.
So his the one guy in the corner being a creep and making everyone else in the orgy feel uncomfortable then.
I'm sure the real thing that women are afraid to talk about is TERFs who think it's acceptable to wash their menstraul cups in the sink in front of everyone else.

Typically, cis women are far less careful of how they act and talk than trans women, for obvious reasons. I've memories, pre-transition, of my older sister telling her favourite knicker style she'd just discovered when I was 15. We don't actually live in some Handsmaid Tale Freakland. Well, not yet.
