I love the expression 'don't play pigeon chess'! I think I'm going to adopt it into Australian English 😅 It's perfect. I've always used an Oscar Wilde quote with similar meaning: 'never fight a battle of wits with an unarmed man'. Not exactly the same, but similar sentiment 😅
