Seven decades ago, going to mass daily while attending Catholic school, we did not study the Bible. Scripture was recited by the priest during sermon. Students memorized questions and answers from a catechism. The elitism wasn't lost on me. By the time I was 20 I was no longer Catholic.
This is absolute truth. Add in I've read the Book of Mormon & done a little bit of Jehovah Witness readings. I'm not being arrogant when I tell Bible thumpers that I probably know their book BETTER than them..I'm WARNING THEM to not TEST ME🤷♀️

I was a young adult in 1963. Now two generations later, I wonder how likely it is that younger Americans are aware of this racist history and knowledgeable enough to recognize where it exists today. Banning this book eliminates looking at that history in a mirror.

A friend was homeless from financial problems & applied for section 8 as a single resident. She moved into an apartment w/two strangers to cut expenses. It took three years and when Section 8 was awarded, she was expected to relocate with her roommates who were credit risks. Section 8 was useless.

My son is a millennial, tired of old rule politics, and so am I. Younger candidates are winning state and local elections. It seems the only hope for the Democratic party is from grass roots bottom up. As an older parent. I might be dead by the time the ancients are out of DC.
