I try not to ask anything of others; but for those of you of a praying persuasion please, pray one for me. If not, kindness and cat pics are always appreciated. I keep moving forward out of habit, and a touch of stubbornness; right now, as hope feels lost, prayers and cat pics will have to suffice.
Over the last couple of weeks, though, a sense of hopelessness that I’ll make it through has been gnawing at me; also a deep sense of shame for feeling like this… “Others are dealing with far worse situations! How dare you?” Shame, however, does not keep the darkness at bay.
An entire string of posts were deleted here. The last couple of months have been particularly dark, frequently white-knuckling between psych appointments as we dig into the C and T of CPTSD. My few remaining coping mechanisms have become increasingly ineffective at insulating me from the pain.

I'm Australian; I had a conversation about gun control with an American a few years ago that feels similar. We went around in circles; it slowly dawned on me that he was so terrified of the ubiquity of gun violence that he could NOT conceive of living in a country where a gun was unnecessary.

One of the recurring conversations I had with studios at Gamescom is when they tried it, generative AI was often a terrible fit for real production workflows. Iterating on assets was time consuming, getting the right prompts to address basic details a chore, and wasn't worth changing approach for.
