Good teachers are the best thing. I had a philosophy teacher who would give us pages of comments on essays but refused to grade them as he didn’t believe thoughts could or should be assigned grades.
And to make us feel guilty for not nagging our kids into doing something they don’t want to do and we don’t think they should have to do, or like monstrous ogres for nagging them to do it.
