We're also all in an industry with lots of DINKs so there can be hostility towards kids/parents among our peers. Some people have said that they hate kids or don't want to be around them directly to parents.
On the extreme end some won't even have us over unless they have a kiddo at a baby sitter or it's past bedtime. I think there's so much pressure to be a perfect parent or for kids to not be seen or heard anymore that it's really fucking with parents.
My husband and I are childless and we've found that our friends with kids don't even want to go do things with us/other childless couples with their kids. Like zoo trips or kid museums or even just the playground. It's bizarre to me. Just because we're childless doesn't mean we're anti-kid!
