Why is it “interesting” to join NYC DSA after the “fiasco” led by DSAers in non-NYC chapters who have negative attitudes toward NYC DSA and the caucuses that dominate it (i.e. SMC/Groundwork)?

I think the issue is that the “us” in the original post implicitly only includes us straight cis adults who would have had the “option” to get swept up in manosphere-esque trash? And ignores that many former gifted kids would not? Idk, it just seems like a point of clarification

Stokely Carmichael, who is quoted here, was a prominent member of SNCC, and his friends and fellow activists being killed (e.g. Sammy Younge, Jonathan Daniels) shaped his views. There is not the sharp dichotomy here that you suggest. Also Harry Truman very much did not do what you claim.
