This is really interesting. 1/3 of all energy is from renewables. More than 60% of energy generated by fossil fuels is lost as waste heat and can’t be USED. Less than 40% of the energy produced by fossil fuels can actually be USED.

Sadly, expanding grass fed beef is even worse for climate change than feedlot beef — as bad as that is. More methane emissions and a much higher land footprint, which overrides the soil carbon benefits. The answer is less beef, less waste, and a smarter food system.

Corn ethanol is a scam. All farm-grown fuels are scams–and they’re land scams. When we use crops for fuel instead of food, we need to grow more crops to replace the food, which means more deforestation and more eating of the earth.

I am negative about biofuels but I learnt 1 tonne of wheat straw can produce 300 litres of bio ethanol or 400 kWh of electricity. Maybe biofuel from waste not so bad…

Well I think the most interesting tech is healing country. Agriculture has gone to far. River catchments need to be healed. The tech we need is biodiversity. Also maybe that farm machine has peaked in size. Smaller electrified autonomous machinery seems to be the way forward.

Highly recommend Australian Ethical Super. Not only do they not invest in fossil fuel projects, they advocate that others don’t too. #divest Oh and the returns have been excellent.
