Ah, the squarish tail, the dark cap- a Cooper's for sure! I have a very hard time differentiating between these lovlies and the look alike Sharpies. Great photo, too! (The eye sees all.)

A true calendar bird!
She's absolutely beautiful! Do Cooper's have the more rounded tail feathers or Sharpies? I'd not noticed a dark cap on this bird, and have a horrible time determining Cooper's from Sharp-shinneds. How many years of study does it take to learn the difference?!
I've read several of those over and over. I'm grateful our library kept them.
At least, they're not out long enough to get rancid, ha ha!
They're a lot of fun, but avoid the grayscale prints. They won't allow enough of your own work to come through. Good luck!
I've got several- mostly chickens, but some raptors and exotics. They sell well, too!
It makes a good cartoon bird, or for a coloring book with the sharply outlined body parts and definitely colored shade. Experiment dome more, and see what you can create!

It's not difficult! You can take your 12 or 13 photos to an ofgice supply store, and have them make some. Or. You can by the "combs" and perforator yourself, plus the covers, snd make your own! It's fun, creative, and you csn sell them as fund raisers!

Yay! Doesn't it make you feel a pride in yourself when they accept your offering of housing? It should. I feel great when the little people stuff on the bird feed I set out. Small joys, but very satisfying.

Much nicer! I believe she's a bit thin, going by her face and around her eye. I'm glad she's able to help her species and others by showing the public how "real" these birds are. Just trying to live, raise families, enjoy their lives. Exposure to the uninformed goes a long way. 'Specially kids!

Undoubtedly. Poor kid, I wonder if they have any ornithological experts available to help with her dietary needs. Her plumage seemed a bit rough, but again, that could be due to diet.
They're very good, pencil allows you a lot of freedom. Lovely birds, too!
Most adults have pearl colored eyes. Maybe a poor diet could have delayed this one's maturation. Just guessing!

Her eyes are still golden! I thought they'd be pearl by now.
Unless, of course, those people laid eggs in others' nests or sang a haunting song. I picture a Carolina Wren when I think of OCD.

So unnecessary, and actually cruel. The same thing is going on in the purebred poultry world- breeding for traits that have no useful function, are grotesque, and doom the bird to an unnatural life.
Poor thing! I wonder if it was sick or injured? I thought they preferred woodland habitat.

Photo, (very poor, sorry!), of one of last year's juvenile Cooper's to hatch and grow here with three siblings. Miracle of miracles- the mom, (I'm presuming,) has managed to nest under my very nose and has 3 new white downed babies! Talk about a cure for depression!!!
I think the pair made the second hawk a bit irate! Can you imagine?
