It only takes one among Amarillo, Tulsa, Little Rock, Macon, Myrtle Beach and a few others to make someone at Sinclair have to explain how they lost the new exclusive home of SEC football to some indie down the street
Maybe. I could also see him saying that the reality is we are talking only 38 stations (34 of them being in minor markets), and punching down doesn’t do you any good either.
Three non-major stations in the DMV at this moment cranking out 1,000 kW, I’m sure one of them would be thrilled to join the O&O portfolio
I’m sure there are some smaller independent or CW-tier stations that would be happy to move up. (Reality though, is that Sinclair’s ABC portfolio isn’t that impressive beyond Seattle and D.C.)
Bad time for affiliates to make this stand in the heart of football season, and… a kinda big event that is on ABC in 15 months

Went to FSU in Ireland last year. Grew up going to FSU games but haven’t been to Doak in 13 years, no desire to go in the last decade due to a multitude of other things, but Dublin got me on a plane and out there. Plenty of lapsed fans/people that still care that will drop for a new trip.
