Was kinda let down by the movie, though not the actors. I know you have to change some things to get it into a two hour movie, but some changes had me shaking my head. And at least one pissed me off. But I usually get this way when they mess with my books. The cast was great at least.
That looks like a lot of fun! Ours was pretty much limited to cardboard and duct tape, so I was mostly concerned with keeping it together this time. We will probably get a little more creative next year.
I don’t think I’ve read any of her work, will have to check it out.

Right now I’m on Mary Oliver’s “Upstream “, and a thriller called “The Man Made of Smoke “ by Alex North . Enjoying both. Just finished “James “ by Percival Everett, great read. Send some suggestions my way, always looking for something new. I listen to a lot of audiobooks while I’m driving .

Been spending time the last couple of weeks building a cardboard boat with the Sequoyah Pride gang. And today we put the “Pink Pony Pirates “ to the test. We didn’t win, but it was a tight race, and I was pretty happy just to complete the course. A lot of fun with some great friends.

Went to a funeral, or a celebration of a life well lived, down in Texas today. Afterwards I stopped at Caelum Mór. The stone, to me, making a contrast to the fleetingness of life.

Forgot to post these last night (may have over indulged a bit). Sautéed some mushrooms and onions, then some pork and chicken with a Japanese style sauce, skewered peppers, and of course the Ranch Style Beans. Served with cold beverages, good tunes, and the woman I love beside me.
I just finished reading Silent Spring. From the early sixties, a lot of it is obviously dated, but much of it still rings true.

We’re lucky that they have it set up where all produce has to be grown locally and all crafts have to be hand made by the seller.

At our farmers market the crafts still outnumber the produce so far. Mostly just radishes and greens and such. But every week I see a bit more. Won’t be long before the summer squash shows up. Then the sweet corn and tomatoes and peppers. Got my mouth watering just thinking about it.

Listening to ‘Braiding Sweetgrass’ while making my deliveries today, so I was happy when I ran across these native plants when I stopped for lunch at Arrowhead State Park for lunch. Milkweed, yarrow, bee balm.
