Initial sketch for an acrylic gouache portrait. I’m using an indigo blue Tombow pencil for the sketch on illustration board. I prepped the board with a couple of layers of gesso with a little drop of black acrylic gouache, then sanded it smooth with fine sandpaper ✨🎨

The most Crowley coded plant I've ever seen. Hellborus Dark and Handsome. Black leaves and petals. The petals have red veining that give them a hint of red coloring. Prefers to grow in shade. They're in season now in the northern hemisphere, and not especially difficult to find.
