In the former official’s opinion, it was more likely that the vessel was carrying migrants on a human smuggling run. It would be impossible to know for sure, however, given that any evidence of drug smuggling was destroyed in the attack.

Linehan wasn't even involved in this event or film, it had nothing to do with him, he just found her post about it and started abusing her.

Daily Mail, five pages on Graham Linehan, including the front page and a spread on how his life was 'cancelled', plus some opinion

Daily Mail front page When did Britain become North Korea Mail double page spread ROWLING BLASTS 'TOTALITARIAN' UK Daily Mail double page spread - Genius whose whoe life was cancelled #TransAgendaClips No laughing matter - IF IT were not so chilling, the sheer lunatic scale and aggression of the police operation against Graham Linehan, creator of Father Ted, would be beyond satire. Serious crime may be out of control in the capital, but the Metropolitan Police could still spare five armed officers to arrest the comedy writer over innocuous social media messages in support of women’s rights. In Orwellian scenes, the 57-year-old was apprehended at Heathrow Airport, held in a cell and interrogated on suspicion of inciting violence in relation to his posts on X. Some wallflowers might have taken umbrage at his comments, which were strongly worded criticisms of trans ideology. But there is no law in Britain against causing offence. It is genuinely outrageous that Scotland Yard responded in such a disproportionately heavy-handed way. At a time when trust in the police is at an all-time low, the wasting of precious time, resources and money on such a hare-brained case has caused real anger. But like the NHS, local councils and other organisations, the police are in the grip of poisonous gender ideology. Yet they are meant to be guardians of the law, not a martial tool of disgruntled activists. Both Sir Keir and Tory leader Kemi Badenoch strongly condemned the Met’s actions, but over the past 15 years their parties have done nothing to stop Britain sliding into this totalitarian nightmare. Unless politicians act to slice out this ideological rot, such blatant police overreach will continue. Until then, it should terrify anyone who treasures the free speech our ancestors fought so hard for.

Telegraph today - anti-trans hate on the front page, a full page of hate on page 5 and some opinion on page 17

Telegraph front page - Starmer attacks Met over trans tweet arrest A page from The Daily Telegraph dated Wednesday 3 September 2025. The main headline reads: “Not even a comedian could make up Linehan farce.” The article discusses Graham Linehan, pictured in the centre of the page wearing glasses, a white T-shirt printed with a Father Ted image, black trousers and trainers. He is standing outside with a group of supporters, some smiling, one with a raised fist. Below the main article is a smaller headline: “Farage to raise free speech case with Trump allies this week.” At the bottom of the page are two other articles: “Women happy to share with trans, says NHS” and “Drag queen travelled to UK on talent visa.” A smaller photograph in the lower section shows a woman with long red hair, dressed in black, standing with arms crossed. #TransAgendaClips Linehan’s arrest is a humiliating new low The Daily Telegraph3 Sep 2025 Nothing so outrages liberal opinion than the charge that free speech is under unprecedented attack in Britain. But that does not make it untrue. Sir Keir Starmer may have bristled when JD Vance took him to task in the Oval Office for “infringements on free speech”, defending our “proud” history of allowing people to speak their minds, and insisting that Britain would remain a country where dissent was tolerated; it seems clearer with each passing day, however, that the vice-president was closer to the truth. The latest entry in the list of speech cases to catch attention across the Atlantic concerns the comedy writer Graham Linehan, best known for his work on sitcoms such as Father Ted and The IT Crowd, who was greeted at Heathrow airport by five armed officers, arrested and interrogated over gender-critical posts on social media. Mr Linehan has stated that he has been released with a bail condition barring him from posting on X. It is difficult to think of a better example of the absurdities of Britain’s current legal landscape, or a better time for the subject to be highlighted; Reform leader Nigel Farage was set to give evidence before a House of Representatives committee on the matter of free speech in the United Kingdom last night, and had stated his intention to raise Mr Linehan’s case. Perhaps having to explain to a sceptical White House why British police forces find it necessary to invest so much time policing tweets rather than streets might form the catalyst for a much-needed revision of this country’s laws. For all the furore after Merseyside Police proclaimed that “being offensive is an offence”, and the strident assertion that it is not, the Communications Act still criminalises “grossly offensive” messages, with the interpretation of that phrase left wide open. The result is a system that pours completely disproportionate effort into investigating behaviour which many believe

More actual terrorism in the the UK - Mother-of-three forced to leave home by loyalists is now living in fear of meeting her assailants after family is rehoused nearby

Belfast Telegraph front page - ‘I feel like someone is out to get me’ Mother-of-three forced to leave home by loyalists is now living in fear of meeting her assailants after family is rehoused nearby Belfast Telegraph3 Sep 2025ABDULLAH SABRI A young mum-of-three forced from her north Belfast home by loyalists has said she fears meeting her assailants in the supermarket, after she was rehoused nearby. What started out as a “dream home” turned into a nightmare for Emma (not her real name) after her house on Annalee Street in Oldpark was initially smashed up in May. Then last week, the “absolutely petrified” mother was told that loyalist paramilitaries “want all Catholics out”. She said her children now suffer from sleeplessness. Emma still feels on edge and refuses to shop alone as she could run into her assailants, as her temporary accommodation is nearby. She added: “I feel as if someone’s out to get me. Like, if I go out in public on my own, will someone stop me? I’ll be honest with you, it’s made me feel very paranoid.”
