I don't think of it as writers block, or creative block, it just feels more so like, this isn't working now but I see the potential. I also think that HEY! MAYBE CERTAIN THINGS SHOULD GET DROPPED...dont be holding on for dear life, but also, maybe this scrap can be an ornament for another piece.
And for some projects that might mean TOMORROW, NEXT WEEK, NEXT MONTH, 5 YEARS! It doesn't stop you from being creative. (It sometimes feels like it though.)
Creatives should normalize returning to projects later. Maybe it requires more reading, more experience, more museum visits. SOMETHING! That something isn't coming right now, it needs time to flourish. We should push ourselves to gain the muscle, but that same muscle should teach us discernment.

People work so hard to humble Black women that it would take a lot less work to just give them what they deserve tbh.
It's hard being Black in all industries, but it's ESPECIALLY weird when it's a place that pushes out public facing work.
There's always space to learn and I LOVE learning. I analyze critique. What you're not gonna have me believe, is that I am the underdog when I had 3x the accreditation to my name. The only thing that makes people perceive me as an underdog, is race. I'm not an underdog, I am undervalued.
Stepping OUT of the tv industry taught me that people can be kind. You can GENUINELY have a calm work place and still do groundbreaking, award winning work. So now that I've experienced it, when I am back in media/tv, which will be inevitable, fascist war lord or not, dont tell me it's not possible.
