Yeah it does seem like the precipitation is more evenly spread over the year in London, and the peaks are higher in Jerusalem, but even then... the total is still higher in London
I find it hard to believe, but yeah. I suppose there is always a difference between "it rains often" and "it does not rain often but when it does, it rains a LOT". I could see London having more "rainy days" where barely anything comes down, but...

Finally, while I also love being a PC I find that I enjoy DMing a lot. Probably because I have this inherent need to feel like I'm in control somehow (even if it's only an illusion), and it really helps with that lol
I tried my hand at writing, briefly. I'm shit at it. I also can't draw, or make pretty things with my hands. So I didn't really have a way to let my imagination run loose. But now I can! I also always loved to act (sadly, a theatre kid at heart), and this also scratches that itch.
It's exactly what I needed. It's inherently social (you need people to play with!), but it also allows me to work on it by myself (session prep, writing homebrew stuff). Most importantly, it's a creative outlet! I've always had a vivid imagination, but no outlet.
what is going to happen is EARNESTNESS, look away if you're not ready final warning here goes: I am so, so happy I have found a new hobby in TTRPGs over the past year. It is the first time where I can say a specific *thing* is my hobby.

I do stuff like DnD/TTRPG which aren't solo hobbies per se, in the actual playing of it, but you can only do that a limited number of hours per week, so the rest of the time I spend on it is in preparation and that's very much solo, haha.
Having said all that... have found an archery club that does lessons in London, and not just in Olympic-style archery but also with traditional bows 👀

Having said that, after I move I hope to be able to do more outdoorsy ones as well!
Most of mine are indoors at the moment so at least there's no planning involved in terms of getting anywhere at a particular time, but having them all within reach at any given point brings its own particular set of challenges 😅

Oomfs, semi-serious question: how do you... decide which of your hobbies or interests to spend time on at any given time? I'm so often caught by choice paralysis because I worry that doing one thing will mean I won't be able to do another, and then I end up doing... neither

One of the most exciting things about working on a homebrew setting that is totally not 17th century Europe is that you can explain any "inaccuracies" away as "well it's my own setting", while also using the opportunity to educate your players about actual 17th century Europe

i can't help myself, in any campaign, any setting, any adventure, even any one-shot I concoct in DnD I *need* to inject a little eldritch, cosmic horror... even if just a hint at something greater, or a reference, there needs to be *something*
Twice a week would be enough of that for me, and you absolutely don't have to be besties with anyone at work (Lord knows I completely forget about work and everyone there the moment I leave), but that doesn't mean you can't feel some... camaraderie? while working
When I am at work I sometimes crack jokes or laugh at my coworkers', there's little chats in between work you make, all of which help to transform them from annoying screen people who disturb your peace sometimes to humans.
As someone who loves not to be perceived and working from home, I do agree. You just also don't care about anyone else if you're only stuck at home, and the little everyday interactions with coworkers are needed so they don't feel like complete strangers IMO.

In my experience, Paris is generally OK... I do speak some French but almost every time I tried to open with a "bonjour" I got greeted with a (sometimes weary) "'ello, 'ow can I 'elp you?" and I was very grateful every single time
