But I have definitely heard of others coding their own lexicon storage. There are a bunch of coders among conlangers, I believe.
I won’t be coding anything, haha, but I figure I could manage to use a spreadsheet. And hopefully later learn to export it into a format that isn’t butt ugly (as I generally find spreadsheets to be).
Although I do have an up and coming conlang for which I could easily start fresh with a new method…
Changing now would be a heck of a lot of data entry.
I have recently debated putting my lexicon into a spreadsheet. For now, I just write out all my definitions, dictionary style, and make liberal use of ctrl/cmd F.

I have been tinkering with language construction since I was 9 or 10 and it has always felt like actual magic.
I still get a little thrill every time I translate something into one of my conlangs.

Context clues tell me it is not the inside of the skin of the palm because apparently it is an affectionate place to rub with a thumb. But that is what my brain hears every time so far.
Is it regional? Does it mean the back of the hand or the heal of the palm? Or something else?
Is this term a normal thing or a romance novel specific thing: the back of her palm I have never heard anyone say that but I have recently read it in more than one romance novel. It always distracts me because I am picturing some place the inside of the hand.

apparently a thing called “mud rain” happened last night, thanks to a recent dust storm in the southwest, which is why everyone’s cars look trashed today. Also the black dog looks brown after a few hours outside.
After god started turning people into pillars of salt for stuff like "looking in the wrong direction," you have to assume that enterprising merchants would trick people into random acts that displeased god so they could have more local sources of salt and cut down on import costs

I like to start with sounds or overarching grammar ideas. Those are the things you draw on to build words.

This started many years ago when my elderly cousin was “researching” the moon, i.e. learning about moon patterns and where to look for it in the sky each night. She lived just a couple miles down the mountain from us and we would often get a call from her saying “Moon Alert!” & we would all go look.
My family message (or shout to) each other “Moon Alert!” if there is a particularly good Moon going on.

I am legit a bit concerned about potential flooding in the valleys. There was a pretty vicious episode of flooding in this county about a decade ago.
I saw a notice that all tunnels in the county are closed due to flooding. No big shock there considering the above picture was taken On Top of a Mountain Ridge.
There is a lot of water falling from the sky right now. Into giant puddles that have merged into ponds. And despite all the rain of the last few days, the snow still hasn’t fully melted or washed away yet. I am glad to be on high ground at the moment.

Good Morning! There is so much visible grass. The driveway is passable. I got my own car back from the repair shop. Things are looking up.
I feel like they have become less common in our area but that might actually be more an effect of spending less time crawling around in the grass and dirt.
