1 of the coolest things about the line from II to III I think is this sort of justice for roxas/namine/xion who at the end of II are Dead dead But everything after II is about being people with their own hearts apart from Sora/Kairi that's kind of meta to how the fans connected with the characters

I cant confidently put a number to it, but I dont disagree. At the very least, I think the writers are correct that without social and medical barriers, many more people would change - if only to try it out, if nothing else. And ofc the normalization would mean more long term transitions too.

Idk the distinction still strikes me as kind of arbitrary. In both cases the game has a clear golden path but acknowledges the open-endedness of its tech to allow for alt paths. I'm not arguing Nintendo isn't more precious about this stuff usually, but DK: B really is quite permissive of it.

Like yes, flaws can be found in everything. But if you don’t GENUINELY feel those flaws for yourself. Then forcing yourself to sound objective feels dishonest.
Idk I wouldn't say it's 'intended' to be able to skip huge sections of the game including entire maps so I don't really see much difference, but that's just me.
To be fair I think there are exceptions to this - the DK Bananza people absolutely do not give a fuck. That game's lousy with tech and skips and even has dialogue acknowledging them. There's even an alternate dialogue snippet that accounts for if you skipped most of the bananza transformations.
SPM has a lot of bangers but I have *always* especially loved this one. It's such a sleeper. That drop with the strings hits different.
