An old GM named Kurt gave me the one and only shot at moving up. He said "We fail or succeed because of what we do or don't do. You're only going to get so far being just a cook." It took work but I moved into management. I'm not just a cook anymore.
I work in food service. I've been everything except a General Manager. I started as a dishwasher because I needed a job. I've learned I'm really good at this type of job and making people happy makes me happy.
