Blown away by watching the Irish Baroque Chorus and Orchestra perform Handel's Alexander's Feast tonight. We are so lucky to have amazing musicians! The conductor, Peter Whelan, was fabulous.

Im celebrating completing a 21-mile swim over June/July to raise funds for #MacmillanCancerSupport. I've had a flare-up of my #Crohns and just had a tantalisingly short 800m to swim today to complete it. I was starting to worry that I'd not manage it, but hah! Stuff that chronic illness!
I came out to my youngest child (13) as bisexual today, as part of a conversation about why we don't use 'gay boy' etc as insults. His reaction was a simple shrug. Good lad.

I had to take Monday off due to being in too much pain, but I did work today. In PJs and close to the loo, but I did manage it.
I managed a fantastic holiday away, but my bowels realised I'd had a too-good time and now I'm struggling. Bloody chronic illness. At least I've lost the holidays weight (yes, it's a dark joke!) #crohnsdisease #crohnicillness

I've realised that whilst the eldest child no longer needs school uniform, he does need a suitable amount of clothes suitable to be seen out and about it for college. My bank balance!
Hopefully, the ruling coming in about schools limiting the badged uniform items might help you. Prices are obscene for some things.
We leave school shoes until a week before, but the trousers and shirts are a standard size up for us, thankfully. Combined with the handle downs from the elder child, who has now left high school, it's not too difficult. Such a good plan to get ahead of the game.

3 weeks left to go in my Macmillan 21 mile swim, and I have managed 15 ish miles so far. I'm loving swimming, but I am *so* tired with everything life is throwing at me right now!

I did put in comments/complaints form 3 weeks ago, but got no response, so I'll have to email to ask what's going on.
The health suite is also out of action, so no access to the showers there.
Only 1 of the 4 ladies' loos downstairs is in full working condition. Of the 7 non cubicle showers, only 4 work.
Oh lord, facilities at the swimming pool are getting worse. Of the 2 (of 3) shower cubicles that still have doors, only one is working. Urgh.
Has it finished, I need to go to bed?

I'm deeply frustrated today at the swimming pool. 50% of the women's loos not working. The accessible loo door handle is loose, and 1 of the 2 showers with doors has dangerous loose tiles. All reported, which helps, but much of this has been this way for weeks on end.
