But in the opposite direction, folks who say "you're willing to let fascism advance because you won't vote for Newsom just because he's not perfect" never turn that lens on themselves. You're willing to let fascism advance by voting for Newsom, just because candidates to his left aren't "perfect."
All of the "you don't really oppose fascism if you're trashing Newsom" takes seem to miss that they never follow their own logic. Newsom represents a shift towards fascism, which is why they should support any othet candidate - be they demsoc, socialist, or even (gasp!) Anarchist or Communist.
