Canadian made and grown essentials have gone up . Collecting tariffs still produces money and protects industries. It’s not one sided . As Canadians we are also paying Trumps tax . Many products have gone up in price since the tariffs from everywhere we cannot escape that and adds more tax on items.
Counter tariffs really do matter they also bring in a lot of money and they protect industries or protect people there is no point to mislead people in an effort to minimize it .Trump is bringing in billions in tariffs .
Where is the affordability that he ran on ? Expenses have only increased since his election and no longer receiving the carbon rebate .

Several items have gone up in Canada . Food went up again , clothing , toys etc etc etc . The only reason our number looks better is because they took the carbon tax rebate away and gas went down.
Let’s consider each component because food and other essentials went up again hurting many Canadians. The gas came down skewing this number . That doesn’t help Canadians who can’t even afford a car or food . I don’t drive so for me my bills have just all gone up and minus the rebate.
