I installed solar a few years ago. I do not miss my electric bills, especially as the rates have been climbing rapidly over the past year or so. Every rate increase means my system pays for itself quicker. It was a 7 year break even before, it is now 6.

In case you still have any questions about why Republicans and other rightwing political parties across the globe are desperately trying to stop the deployment of renewable energy, this well describes what they fear. Renewable energy threatens the fossil fuel industry. It's as simple as that. 🔌💡

Alec Stapp @ '”% This is what a paradigm shift looks like: Once even a few gigawatts of storage come online, batteries quickly dominate the ancillary market and cut prices In California, ancillary service costs in 2024 were roughly one-third lower than in 2023. This is because a system with abundant fast storage no longer needs to commit gas units days in advance or pay plants to stay warm Aug 29, 2025 - 6:06 PM UTC

Globally, Tesla faces real rivals: BYD & CATL are leading a booming 200+ GWh BESS market in 2024. But in the U.S., Tesla stood alone—until now. GM + Redwood (founded by ex-Tesla CTO) just entered with $5.5B+ invested, 20 GWh target, and 10k tons/year battery recycling. Game on.🔋 #BESS #EnergyStorage

Along with the increased minimum percentage of renewables for distribution firms, this boosts demand just as new solar&wind projects have to secure contracts directly with buyers. www.linkedin.com/pulse/analys...

Lisa Needham of Public Record with a perfect summary of the Roberts court:

When future historians grapple with how Trump managed to so quickly and so thoroughly dismantle American democracy, the role of the Roberts Court cannot be overstated. It's not just that the Court's conservatives have blessed Trump's worst efforts, though that certainly has contributed to Trump's success. It's also that the Court's conservatives share Trump's deep disdain for immigrants, for people of color, for trans kids, and are in no way interested in pushing back on his attacks on them. It's a match made in hell.
