Volgens een oud Correspondent-artikel is 'het volk' nu welvarend genoeg geworden om zich niet langer te bekommeren om economische thema's (= terrein van links-populisme) en zich nu over rechtse thema's druk te maken. Maar met woningtekort en afbraak verzorgingsstaat is er toch ruimte voor links?
Volgens mij laat de geschiedenis zien (revoluties, vakbondsacties, etc) dat grote groepen mensen ook best te porren zijn voor 'linkse idealen'. Maar je moet ze wel porren.
Beter lijkt me: "de kiezer die gevoelig is voor populisme" en nu bij gebrek aan links-populisme dan maar voor (extreem)rechts-populisme gaat. De geschiedenis laat volgens mij zien dat deze kiezers ook best te porren zijn voor 'linkse idealen'. Revoluties, vakbondsstakingen, etc.
Is dat een feit of een vermoeden? Een groot deel van de bevolking is domweg gevoelig voor populisme en modderpoel-retoriek, onafhankelijk of dat nu rechts of links is. Dan kun je er maar beter gebruik van maken, en dat electoraat niet ten prooi laten vallen aan rechts populisme.
Men had anderhalf jaar nodig om met dat antwoord te komen?
