When someone believes their word is the rule of law, good luck getting them to follow a court order

Thanks for sharing. The cattlemen's associations are clearly worried about the younger generation's awareness of red meat as both a health and environmental issue...

Disinformation aside, let's remember all energy sources have an environmental footprint. The real question is what kind of impacts are we willing to accept to turn on that light switch? Right now, our fossil fuel habit is pushing us toward mass extinction event.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Hard to imagine a bigger waste of time....
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Manufactured crisis and abuse of power aside, this is just a giant waste of taxpayer money. #trumplies #authoritarian
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
The reality is that despite their best efforts, decarbonization is going to continue with or without the US. No doubt his actions are disruptive, but thinking he can change the trajectory is both niave and reckless.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Indeed. We need to keep the fight up for Kilmar and the thousands of others like him. Silence and inaction only emboldens the administration.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
No doubt this will be another thing the US misses out on because of the incompetence of the current administration.

If only I was in the UK! Good luck.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Yup. I just think there probably needs to be a pro-active education campaign to get ahead of any disinformation blasts from the fossil fuel industry.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Totally agree. I just know the price per unit of energy people pay for electricity versus natural gas is an important variable in driving whether consumers see the cost savings you'd anticipate with lower energy use. rmi.org/electric-rat...
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Thanks for sharing. I think the challenge now is keeping down electric utility rates so consumer don't end up paying more even though their energy consumption has dropped.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
A threat that deserves far more attention than it gets. Just need to weather the reign of the village idiot before we can expect any U.S. leadership on this.

Indeed. I don't pretend to understand how media decides what to publish, but this stuff should be front page....a country literally disappearing under the ocean because of fossil fuels.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social)
Hard to believe, but very real. The G.O.P bill now proposes taxing future wind & solar projects.... This bill will increase energy prices, eliminate jobs & increase CO2 emissions. If there was ever a time to call your Republican senator, it's now. #climatesky www.nytimes.com/2025/06/29/c...

This is truly disgusting. The only way it stops though is if people take the time to speak up. If we all complain to each other, nothing changes.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Agreed. I feel like the climate movement needs to join forces and not just push back in the courts, but start making this a political issue in the midterms. The challenge though is having it breakthrough with all the other chaos being created by this administration.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social)
The white house may be controlled by fossil fuel puppets, but the midterms will come quickly. It's up to us to hold our representatives accountable and that work needs to start now. #climatesky #netzero #cleanenergy

Thx for sharing. It's laughable when Detroit talks about how "consumers aren't ready" for EVs. The reason they're not ready is that automakers continue to push gas vehicles first and foremost and because conservative have made EV adoption a culture war.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Indeed. Painful to watch.

And the corruption continues...
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Carbon is generated manufacturing both types of vehicles. The analysis I linked takes into account both the manufacturing and driving of an EV versus an ICE. Manufacturing an EV generates more emissions, but because driving an ICE produces far more emissions an EV comes out ahead.
Jason Lewis (@jasonwlewis.bsky.social) reply parent
Can you share your source? Everything I've read is that the lifetime emissions are far lower with an EV than an ICE. evtool.ucs.org

Steve Bannon is the worst, but he's also a former white house chief strategist and an influential member of the right-wing political machine. Good journalism means covering the people/ideas shaping our reality, even if we don't agree with them. Otherwise, we're just perpetuating the echo chambers.

Pulling back now on efficiency standards is the last thing we want to be doing, especially with the current federal rollbacks. Sure, some efficiency updates increase the upfront costs of housing, but those are always offset by the long-term benefits of lower operating costs.

Yes, fossil gas has advantages to coal, but this piece @woodmackenzie.bsky.social feels more big oil marketing campaign than a true analysis of it as a transition fuel. Yes, it has a role to play, but its also pushing us toward a climate tipping point, albeit less quickly. #climatesky #greensky
