I didn't even consider that meaning too! π
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Had to read this twice to pick up that "lit" in this context means "literature" or "literary" and not you being one of the cool kids to tell us how lit the party was. π
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
And I'm so very glad to hear that it's not just me! I think in retrospect it's something of the mannerisms and pacing of the way he speaks. Also, what a fun channel, right?? Food and history and good times!

SCOTTelgangers!! I love this!! ππ

@shumphrey1212.bsky.social Hi Scott! I'm not even sure why, but while watching the last couple of minutes of this historical foods video, the presenter suddenly reminded me of you: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAp-...
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
And his segment is at about 34:40
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
It looks like it's still currently on YouTube in its entirety: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG4W...
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
what is right, what is decent. I'm so sorry that you were a victim of that. Therefore we must continue to protect ourselves from such people, even though you are absolutely justified in being outraged that such protection is necessary. Those bad people don't change, because they don't want to.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Someone replied about laws regarding voyeurism and public spaces as if arguing the legal basis for allowing such a use, and I was so sickened I just left the thread and blocked the ad and that user. So I'm left with the grim reality that there are too many people who don't want to do what is kind,
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
It reminds me of a time I saw an ad back when it was Twitter, for a drone with a video camera. The ad demonstrated its use by having it spy on a sunbathing woman on a penthouse deck, obviously without knowledge or consent. I found that incredibly offensive, and commented to that effect.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm so very sorry to hear that you've been subjected to a violation of yourself and your account. That's what it is, of course. Something you posted in good motive was violated by being misused. And the attitude of some who reply to the matter naturally upset you. (short thread)
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
That is very good to hear. I won't get into details, but there is a family situation that makes that speak to me especially right now, and I wish you every success in seeking positive thinking right now. I'm proud of you!!
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Well I say it *is* related to Star Trek because it's obvious that most people in the 23rd and 24th centuries have trouble doing meal prep as well and have invented food synthesizers and replicators to do it for them! ππ
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
I love "The Great Poofening"!! π
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
That's French for you, dressing up a concept with diplomatically-pleasing language. π In this case, from the verb "abattre", meaning "to strike down", and a suffix "-oir" used of places. So, "the place of striking down".
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
I had to read the description to notice the small crescent moon, and I thought you were referring to the very crescent-shaped bright orange clouds in the upper left, so it still seemed to make sense to me! π
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
And of course, not just a fan, but a forever part of our Trek family. ππβ€οΈ
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
(A repost of my X reply for here) A very lovely testimonial! When first finding your comedy myself, I remember being immediately struck with your intelligence and character performances. That you had a lot to say and could say it well. You were a deep person, and that meant depth to your work.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Um, I LOVE this promo!!! ππβ€οΈ
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Just incidentally, I think your hair looks especially great for this special!
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
What a great piece!! Making things for people can be so very satisfying. Also, I love that multicolored top you're wearing!

Did he actually, or was that a fabrication?
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
I only realized later that I had anxiety disorder, but it held me back from starting until about age 19, when most of my friends had their permits about age 15. This is an accomplishment. I am proud of you!!

Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Would a simple, "I don't use those, so the problem came from someone else" suffice? The burden of proof should be on the landlord as to whether a tenant caused damage anyway, I would think.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent

ICYMI, I love your RDR2 announcement title card, and I like to make Photoshop art for people I enjoy following. I tried to give your picture a poster look to make it fit in the style of the original. I hope you'll enjoy it, Alison! π€
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social)
@tiredactor.bsky.social Alison, I love your RDR2 poster (I just started playing; great game!!), and I love making things in Photoshop for people I enjoy following. I tried to match your picture insert to the style of the game poster. This is for you, and I hope you enjoy it! π€
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Have you done that one before, as either a guest or attendee? It was my privilege while I was still well enough to go that I got to attend two of them. I hope you have a wonderful time!! πππβ€οΈ

Hi Scott, my friend Jeff did not stream last night after all. Next scheduled one should be Thursday evening for Red Dead Redemption 2. Will let you know if he's on and/or plays my song.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm truly sorry
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Thank you for telling me about it. I didn't realize you had yours around the time I had a hand injury that I left my career over. I'm glad to say the scarring was minimal and functionality seems unaffected. It truly is traumatic to have a bad injury, and I'm proud of you for your good attitude. π
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
The little spinny dance at the beginning made me think of it, but may I ask how you're doing in your recovery from your serious foot injury? I knows it's been a while, but I'm hoping you've recovered as fully as possible and have minimal lasting effects.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social)
@shumphrey1212.bsky.social Hi Scott! Should you be awake, we may be playing my parody song tonight on my friend's channel, usually starts about 11-11:30pm ET, www.twitch.tv/jeffylew I may be able to send it to you somehow too if you want to hear it. π

Well then, while those people may not have liked you, it's also clear that they didn't know you well either. β€οΈ
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent
Do you mean such as Shawn, or without the proper accent mark? I never remember the keyboard short-cuts for making diacritics and often rely on copying and pasting if it's in someone's name. In any event, as someone whose given name is hard for Americans, I sympathize.
Jean Claude R. (@jaysear.bsky.social) reply parent

The analogy that seems apt to me is that it's like you've survived a house fire. It's devastating on many levels. So it's natural to feel the way you are now. Hoping for the very best for you as you rebuild. β€οΈ

@felicia.day Just because I read a post of yours just now and it reminded me, I am so very proud of you that you've gone on your first cruise and are even going to host again, Felicia! ππ I've probably told you before I had a fear of water when I was young that took me a long time to overcome.

It sounds like you're asking for our thinking on it. I built my collection of people I followed there over many years, and I love keeping in touch with those people. I was there long before the people with terrible attitudes, so I personally don't want to leave my own "home" there because of them.
