(1) The push for laws against phones in schools set of alarm bells for me because of all of the censorship laws being promoted as āsave the kidsā laws, but I do think schools should have protections that allow them to prohibit phones in classrooms.

Good point. I meant more in the sense that it would be no.1 relative to everything else going on, like people being kidnapped by unidentified officers, EPA regulations being rolled back, destruction of historical records, etc.
The attempt to ban, erase etc.. marginalized people's histories demands responses at the grassroots level. Regular people can be cultural stewards, can be archivists, can be storytellers, can be preservers of oral history. And these are all fun things to do!
