I feel like in the 1980’s/90’s this would be a major plot point in a Tom Clancy novel, and the operation would be carried out as an off-book, illegal black op, with various characters trying to cover it up lest they face congressional hearings. Now the President just announces it.

My dad collected baseball cards as a kid in the '50s and '60s. In 1965, he went off to the USAF. When he returned home in 1969, he found out his parents had not only moved but thrown out his card collection. He had a mint Mantle rookie card in there. 😒
The closest I ever got to the feeling of a real Conan adventure in tabletop was play testing a ruleset called "Chainmail Bikini" by Howard Whitehouse & Rodrick Robertson. I don't think they ever published it though.

From what I understand, it's good for years. If it starts to dry out, you could probably just add more plastic cement fluid. I had some nasty gaps in my latest kitbash and it filled them in great! Just a little sanding and it is flush.
