I'm enjoying it so far. First time awhile where I've felt scared rather than frustrated.
Unfortunately, when you're bi you're forced to deal with homophobic assumptions while being seen as someone who's doing it as a fashion by the community. People downplay this by assuming that bisexuals pass and therefore "a none issue".
Love when it happens. My go to example of this is the old cover for 'A Canticle for Leibowitz.' Along with showing the main points of the three parts, it captures the cyclical nature of them.

I feel like a big issue of the popular conception of Chiang comes from historians viewing chiang kai shek as a military dictator and not what he was, a political one that led primarily through the KMT and not NRA. This is currently being addressed but the popular conception is still their.

Engagement. Algorithms are not designed to distinguish good or bad content. They only know how to determine things like most watched, most commented on, most shared. This is why hate watching or writing negative comments pushes things along in the algorithm. Do not engage.
My only comment on the bluesky meta discourse is that one of the strongest bull signs that this place is doing good is that it constantly induces involuntary conniption episodes in the people who built their entire livelihoods around twitter before it became a communal prison toilet
One part of it reminds of Antisemitism where no one stays with one transphobic belief. Inevitably, they indulge in the cruelest of cruelties and the most paranoid of conspiracies in order to support their position, which they're obsessed with.
An amusing part about people who glorify the past is that they never imagine themselves as suffering in said past. It's always "I would have been a king or a general or rich" and never "I want to die in a trench or be a court eunuch."
You can tell the ones who stay on Twitter because they'll brag about 'trolling' the right and will give verbal support for the worst left-wing violence in the same way a teenager brags about stealing from the supermarket.

This actually suggests an interesting reason why so many "centrist" pundits have stayed on Twitter (and in many cases, cooked their brains there)--on Twitter, they are much less likely to get substantive pushback on their ideas.

Yeah - I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think that because Harry Potter is so successful, and because it came out in the same decade as Jackson's Lord of the Rings, people kinda think that 'successfully making the Harry Potter films' was easy.
If you were in charge of making this show for a decade, the thing you would want, for any number of reasons is just to set a 'no media chat or questions about it, this is a set with a lot of kids' rule. It's just not worth the hassle given you are ultimately going to be working with c500 teenagers.
Along with the Transphobia (which has alienated her older fans) she has a reputation for being cruel, unproffessional, and self-centred. This reputation is not connected with her work but has overshadowed her work. She's not the person who wrote Harry Potter. She's the bigot who wrote Harry Potter.
I think it's the politics that are less of an issue for the production and more that Rowling is a walking PR nightmare. The second tweet is noteworthy here. If you have a thing in production, you don't drop dirt on people like it's an internet beef.

Underlying this endless performance is the assumption that everyone else is playing the same game, and anyone who fails to do this is simply too dumb to understand what the correct viewpoint is and express it correctly. The idea that the correct viewpoint may be unknown, or debatable, is dismissed.
The reason left-wing subcultures so often end up being extraordinarily unpleasant and dysfunctional is because they almost always devolve into people competing to perform the best and most stirring ritual recitation of the Consensus Correct Viewpoint on every single issue.
