It’s hard to imagine the companies with the resources to do this skipping tox studies in the near term — the tox studies cost far less than building a model like this does. More likely—the model gets used to screen and then the animal work still gets done.
This has been passed around for a while but This is not a new initiative it’s very narrow and someone submitting without much animal data will have to do a lot of work to support their claims Animal data is much less expensive than clinical studies. It’s an important derisking step.
