It’s been my mission to read all the banned books - and after reading them, I’m always struck by the ignorance of the people banning these books. A lot of the books have difficult subject matter - drugs, rape, incest, racism - all things that occur irl. It’s impossible to bubble wrap the world

Sometimes being number 1 in the country is not a good thing. Case in point, Florida is number 1 in book banning. The books being banned weren’t even part of the curriculum, just available at the school library. Here’s a picture of one shelf at my sons high school library after the banning took place
