If that is correct then you are right on the money. Way too important to have a full time, well trained wildfire service. My son has worked and trained side by side with the BC crew. He said their knowledge was invaluable.
Does Newfoundland have a wildfire service like BC (and most other provinces)? I know after the last few years BC increased their Wildfire Service team. And yes the days of "volunteer" firefighters is well past. All our communities here have a small full time crew large "paid on call" my son is one.
Always interesting to see the air support head to the fires.
