I think it's pretty tongue-in-cheek, that said I have seen a lot of people calling Weapons the film of the year which feels a lot more ridiculous. I thought Weapons didn't take itself very seriously and that was to it's credit, didn't take *much* of a broader point home from it and that's okay imo
