I have no idea who committed the atrocity at UVU today. But the two released videos so far—per multiple law enforcement analysts on multiple media outlets—suggest a professional hit. That makes this much more complex, and far less likely to be the product of simple partisanship.

So far the distinguishing factor in the Kirk shooting is that the assassin fired a single shot. This is why I wouldn't be shocked if they'd used a bolt action. Otherwise I'd guess a hunter or experienced target shooter. It's weird for someone to shoot just once in this situation.
