Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: I was able to get a normal Condor head (and a camo one) from eBay as his upgrade pack had sold out. Much better than the screaming one!

Action Figure Pic of the Day: Rom! I really dig this figure. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of others, but he's really cool!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
That's amazing!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
She's got a energy blast to go with the odd punch effect.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pics of the Day: PRxSF final. Cammy as the green ranger. Odd they covered up her arms and legs after Ken having bare arms. I like them being covered, but i'm not a fan of the color. She'd work better with another color. Still a solid figure with good accessories.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Picture(s) of the Day: PRxSF part 3: Ken. A lot of the same notes as before, but I like Ken less than Ryu and Chun Li. I think it's the bare arms...which doesn't really fit the PR theme. Otherwise he's fine.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I don't know that it's my favorite, but it's definitely top-tier.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Picture(s) of the Day: PRxSF part 2: Chun Li. I also dig Chun Li. The fusion just works with her colors and outfit. Again, great accessories just missing a head.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
The base is also a stand for fireball, which is extra cool.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: PRxSF Ryu. I dig this one quite a bit. As I said yesterday, extra hands, multiple effects and a base is a good package. Ryu head would be great, but not necessary now that we have some SF toys.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Agreed, and I'll touch on that as I show off each one.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Power Rangers X Street Fighter. I got these cheap over several months this year because they're pretty cool. Extra hands, effects, a stand...the only thing missing is extra heads. Here's the group pic.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm a huge fan of Sgt Slaughter, so I had to pick it up. I love the accessories, though I like the classic color scheme better.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
What is up with movies on Amazon Prime listed as "only with Ads". I pay for no ads, I should get no ads.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Firefighter part 2. I do really love how many accessories this comes with. I have some tiny gripes, but this really is a good figure and worth picking up.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: G.I. Joe Classified Firefighter. This is a pretty cool figure. I'm not sure how far they can do this part of the line, but i'm interested to see. Lots of accessories, only missing one thing!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Turtles part 3. The ghostly/projection splinter with the light up campfire is very cool. And I love the packaging and little backdrops they added. This is how you make a set!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the day: More Turtles. These guys look great. Poseability is decent, great accessories. I was on the fence about getting this box, very glad I did!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Nope, not at all, and I agree.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: You can guess what i'm watching tonight by the pics...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: The Ray. I'm somewhat of a fan of The Ray since I picked up the 'modern' (at that time) origin for him years ago. Saw this and figured I'd get it, since it's 1/12 scale. I like it. Extra head and hands is good, and it holds up well for being 7ish years old.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, it's a bit much
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Part 2 on Desert Condor. I do dig that the helmet comes with options. Optics come off. And you can change it between comms or not. Some fun options.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Friday Night games: Dave is not really into Battletech, so trying something else for a bit. We backed both the 1st Relic Knights Kickstarter, so we have plenty of models. Had a fun time, if it ended up as our bosses just beating on each other. Space Pirate>Catgirl Mage
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Not sure it's a #hobbystreak, but i've been painting up an action figure head to look like one of my team. I should note, the head started blonde.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Desert Condor. I wanted someone to fit with the Vanguard and he fits the bill. As usual, lots of good accessories and a great value if you want a military figure. I with they'd done a normal, unmasked head in this pack. I dislike the screaming head.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Another Action Force. Senshi. I like the accessories that take him from 'realistic' military to basically G.I. Joe member. Cool accessories and, of course, extra hands!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Now on to some Action Force! Picked up some figures i'd missed. Here's the re-issue of Trigger. Solid figure. Not a ton of accessories, but more than it appears since the holsters are filled. A good value if you like military figures.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Those thigh cuts are ugly as heck! I hope that's an early version and the production one has those calmed down a bit.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. Very odd, but interesting. Not as much action as I thought. Very much a 'just see where it goes' movie. Don't regret the purchase, it'll be an occasional watch.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Post a screenshot of your first 5 Steam purchases and let Bluesky judge you. Yeah, this tracks. Got steam for BL2 and do love me some Star Realms...though tabletop more than vs computer.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Night Creepers. Ended up with 2 as the 2nd was super-cheap (and got me free shipping). I dig them. Like that they have multiple heads, extra hands, and a bunch of weapons. Definitely a solid troop builder.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Cobra Island Cobra Trooper, part 2. I do really like how he looks, but the weapons are meh (a common issue with early G.I. Joes). The look ok, but the pegs sticking out of them are lame. Especially seeing how new figures have gone. Still a solid figure
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Tonight's movie was Fantastic Four: First Steps. I liked it, didn't love it. I thought Superman and Thunderbolts were better. Need to process it. Will definitely give it another look once it's on D+
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Cobra Island Cobra Trooper. I'd missed this one originally, so I found one at a good price and got him. This was classified's formative time and it kinda shows (more on that tomorrow). A solid figure overall with ok accessories.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Cobra Troopers (retro version). After the Vipers wowed me, decided to pick these up. They are not nearly as good. Solid weapons, but no hands. They're decent but not amazing.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I miss the Decipher Star Wars TCG. But it was not balanced around what the prequels brought...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I love Death to Smoochy. Odd, but hits the right comedy notes throughout it.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Tonight's movie: The Substitute 2. This is an enjoyable movie that hits all the clichès. It's not amazing, but solid and elevated by the ever-enjoyable Treat Williams.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Friday night I finally saw Twisters. While I wish it was more connected to Twister, I still enjoyed the heck out of the movie. Not a hard plot to figure out, but the actors had good chemistry and the effects were solid. Would've been worth it in the theater, maybe matinee.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Nemesis Immortal part 2. So, extra head, extra hands...this one is missing only one thing, and it's not a normal thing I criticize. A base. The wings make him very hard to pose and stand, so base would've been a great idea. Otherwise a fine figure.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Also seen recently: xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. Man, what to say about this movie. I always remember it as better than it actually is . It's almost good. I like a lot of the characters. Donnie Yen is amazing. A couple great action sequences, but it still just misses.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Mission Impossible 2: I'll start by saying I do enjoy it overall...but it is clearly the weakest of the series. Pacing is odd, overly dramatic at points, and fights that are way beyond what the series does otherwise. I'd rate it better as an action movie than as a M:I movie.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Settled on M:I 2
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Been trying to watch more movies in my free time. Tonight, it was a toss up between Mission: Impossible 2 or Blade.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Back to figure openings for now. Here's Nemesis Immortal. I don't know why they changed the name from Nemesis Enforcer, but here you go. Sold out and never came back into stock, so another eBay find...thanks Hasbro.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Last display for now. My favorite figures (so far) this year and some Transformers.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Here's my hodge-podge shelf. Mostly stuff i've opened recently.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Here's the Marvel shelf. A bit of a hodge-podge as I only get Marvel Legends on sale.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Never had this one as a kid, looking forward to getting him soon.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, they really make sense of Roy's death scene way better than the cartoon.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Here's the next shelf. Kinda random right now, but it's going to be either Turtles or just pop culture stuff coming up soon!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Here's the Star Wars shelf.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, him and couple others coming for me.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I want to, but I just shipped, and have 2 or 3 more figures just about to drop.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I dig this quote, but it's a version of what Master Kan said in Kung Fu: "Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, Rather than kill."
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Since I showed off the Dreadnok shelf yesterday, I'll go through the rest. Here's the Joes (at least the ones I can fit).
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Final (for now) on Dreadnoks. I set up a Dreadnok display on one of my shelves. I need to get some lights for in there, but it's fun to have a 'team' all together.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Last day in the office, so had to clear out the desk. Need to figure out where i'm gonna put all these...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Last Dreadnok figure (for now). Zandar! Zartan's brother. Another solid, newer figure. Decent accessories, interesting weapons. Just needs...hands.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Torch part 2. I love how he's got multiple effects for the flamethrower. He's a solidly good figure.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I literally just opened them all up on Monday. They're decent. A bit loose joints (as you expect from Hasbro during that era), but pretty decent. More accessories than I had thought, too.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Almost done Dreadnoks! Here's Torch! Much like the rest comes with normal weapons, and his 'destruction' tool. In this case pistols and flamethrower.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I hate when the dumbbell pops out of the neck. How hard is it to just make them all the same so we can custom head swap?
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Roadpig finale. His tattoos are very nice work and add a lot of character. Only one downside...the shield does not really fit at all. I really wish they'd work on these. But it's not enough to drop the figure in any rankings I keep...well worth it.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Back to Road Pig. I love how you almost get two different figures from this. The very hog themed one with helmet and hammer, and the very road warrior/Dreadnok one.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of Yesterday: Yesterday was a good day...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Next Dreadnok is Roadpig. While "he comes with a dog" should be enough, he also comes with a ton of accessories. Including hands and heads. Some praise and minor quibbles coming, but he's great!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
They're almost perfect. A couple figure flaws due to when they came out, but really solid figs.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Ripper, part 2. I love that the Dreadnoks don't just come with their destruction equipment. They've got guns and knives as well. Though, let's be honest we love them for their destruction weapons...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
You got it!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Next Dreadnok is Ripper. Solid accessories, though mine was missing the knife. You know what he really, really needs?
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Agreed. Palladium games are very, very playable. Aside from a couple games of D&D, Palladium games were most of what I played into the 90s.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Gnawgahyde part 2. Double pets is great. Yobbo (the monkey) has limited articulation and only fits in certain spots. Porkbelly (the boar) is a bit better, very similar to the wolves and dogs. Still, a fig with this many accessories is always a win.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I love how the rifle fits in the case. Though it's stock is quite short and odd to me.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: More Dreadnoks, this time Gnawgahyde. Lots of accessories, multiple pets...he's a good pick up. Rifle, check. Bow, check. Sword, check. Knives, check. So many accessories. The only thing missing? Say it with me...hands.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, not a huge fan of them, especially on older figures...but they're getting better.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Been filling out my Dreadnok figures. I'm going alphabetically, for my sanity. Buzzer. Solid figure. A bit loose at points, but good accessories. Just needs hands!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: A couple weeks ago, I was wasting time in a Walmart, and saw the display of How to Train Your Dragon. So I got Toothless at the same time for me. It's a solid figure for the price, but minimal poseability really hurts it for me.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Pink Ranger, part 2. As I said, good amount of accessories. Solid likeness. Now, more hands would be good, but two extra is a solid start.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh yeah. I keep an eye out for the rest. I've bought them once, but they were a going away present for my work sister.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
He's no Chester...but he's Great!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Lamenting my lack of female figures, my sister bought me a Pink Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger. It's a solid fig! Two weapons, two extra hands, arrow and firing effect. Plus an unmasked head that's a good likeness!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
If I played 40K still, i'd consider them... The new models are so cool!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
"Action Figure" pic(s) of the day: I've previously noted that I don't consider Funko Pops to be action figures and that i'm not a huge fan. But some are just cute and fun enough that I consider them. Krypto is one of those...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Doc, part 2. I dig the stretcher, but it leads to my 2nd (much more minor) complaint. I dig it overall, but the way it bends means it bends with a figure on it. Still a good figure overall, and I love how thematic and true to the original he is.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: G.I. Joe Classified Doc. Another really cool figure with great accessories and just missing one thing...extra hands! I love that he comes with similar stuff to his old figure. He looks great!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Yo!
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
Slightly loose, but not terrible. Not gonna come out on their own, but no resistance when pulled
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the day: Troublebubble part 2: This time the actual Bubble. I dig it, it's a good size, drone, gun and missiles are cool. And the pilot fits in well! Just need to find a proper sized flight stand...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the day: Troublebubble part 2: This time the actual Bubble. I dig it, it's a good size, drone, gun and missiles are cool. And the pilot fits in well! Just need to find a proper sized flight stand...
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s pretty cool. I have one clear flight stand just need to try it and see if it works
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I missed it first time around and regret it no longer. I like how space efficient is it. Just gotta find a good flight stand for it.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social)
Action Figure Pic(s) of the Day: Got the Trouble Bubble at the same time as the Valkyries, also at discount due to a ding in the package. Let's start with the Tele-Viper. Pretty cool. Love that he's got three heads. Though no extra hands. Still cool overall.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
And the cherry on top is that he'd look really good...if he fit in vehicle mode.
John Spencer (@johnospencer.bsky.social) reply parent
I know some transformations are tedious, but this one was downright frustrating. I'm gonna keep him in bot form. Really glad he was on deep, deep discount...if i'd paid anything close to full price i'd have been really pissed.
