Programming is, I think, going to keep me humble. Don't get me wrong: it's very satisfying. I'm really enjoying the things that work. But oh my lord, every new task is such a saga of "so why DOESN'T this work also how do I do that"...
Think of her like the kind of character that isn't working for the villains, but they certainly aren't helping the main cast, either. She's a brute, a loud-mouthed brat, and despite her considerable strength, she really only does what she wants-- terrorizing Novria.

Delighted that Ismene has entertained a few people. I'm back working on Diadem Station; I've almost come to the point of understanding some things I need to do differently (and I know I'm not there yet), but my main goal is getting a playable demo at the moment.
It really is beautiful. People will always pass judgement, so if you are free to self-express, to be 'weird', that's validating for you and important for society as a whole. If you can't be weird, there are probably larger problems at hand as well.
I'm glad you had the library. I'm sorry you had to deal with that sort of reception.

I read a bunch of new-to-me #80s scifi/fantasy because of getting into filk songs. It was an interesting adventure. I enjoyed the #Ivrel books. And a few Star #Trek novels that I'd just never hunted down (especially LA Graf's works, but Diane Duane's as well).
It's wild, knowing that Ismene is pretty much ready to go. I'm going to do the #typeset for a print edition later, I think, because I have a current project and some professional development to be focusing on. #selfpublish #amwriting #hope You, whoever you are, I wish good things for all of us.
