It was kinda quiet out at the refuge today. Lots of wood ducks, though. And at least a half dozen osprey, which is a lot in my experiences there. Bald eagles were present as well, as per usual. Today was the last day to visit before it’s closed for hunting season. It was a nice visit.

There are many features not photographed here. A boardwalk out into the marsh, hiking trails all about the loop and outside of the small auto tour loop are thousands of acres to explore and a visitor center. A national treasure and I feel fortunate to live close enough for day trips there. 💚

Yeah, there is that. I think that’s at a spot called Haulover Inlet in southern Florida that’s notorious for currents and waves that make it treacherous for boats going in and out. Everybody there presumably knows that.
Nice channel catfish just before I put it back in the water. I use circle hooks when I fish using back as they’re designed in a way that the fish will be hooked in the corner of the mouth no matter how deep they initially swallow it. Makes unhooking and release easy on everybody involved.
