That Melvins set last night was one for the ages. Absolutely brutal in the best way possible. What a band.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that guitar shops have some of the worst music playing in them. The jankiest bass tone, the worst time signatures, basically Phish with even less talent.
They're as if the Replacements were better musicians but shitter songwriters. Their bass player is very good and at least Dale Crover is drumming with them.

Pusha is on great form, Malice less so. The guests bar Nas bring something to each song they're on. So good that Ab-Liva is back. Overall better than the last album but not as good as 'Lord Willin'/'Hell Hath No Fury'. (What is though?)

Albert's doing incredible work with this series of events, some fantastic lineups.
'Up' has got their last few truly great songs on it I think. Diminishing returns after that. It definitely has one or two bad tracks but I think the main problem is the sequencing, having 'Airportman' and 'Suspicion' in the first three tracks isn't a great introduction.
Could have given up after the Dirtbombs. First gig I ever saw was the RHCP/Pixies/The Thrills/Groove Armada gig in the Phoenix Park. Pixies were genuinely revelatory, RHCP have yet to be beaten in terms of eldritch horror.
Not much to quibble with on the list, though I would put 'Up' after any album that came after it as there are some real classics on it. What a band.
