Our retirement goals were to be uncomfortable and learn new things.
We live in Portugal and bought a house from a French couple. Closing on home:in English ,French and Portuguese. Yesterday I had a Dutch woman picking up boxes, a Brazilian handyman & cable guy, a Portuguese gardener, and a Danish & Dutch ventilation team all helping us out. Great for the old brain!

It was raining when we first visited our soon to be home. Today we got to walk around with the owners. We'll have a lemon, orange, pomegranate and mandarin trees. Wisteria, jasmine,lots of herbs.

In the Alentejo region is the Torre de Palma winery. It's very photogenic. The storks nest here in May are as good as their rose and red wines.
We visited our favorite wine region of Portugal, the Alentejo. Howard's Folly restaurant was easily the best meal that we had all week, not to mention the best wine.

We moved to Portugal and I have a little black redstart that comes each morning to say hello, eat bugs and slugs and then sings me a song. It feels very Disney- like. Great variety of birds that you have!

A coastal walk yesterday yielded so many unique flowers. I forgot to take pictures though..... until I was looking at a beautiful flower and a big brownish- orange bumble bee buzzed by. I could not get his picture and my husband was encouraging me to continue the walk. Salir do Porto Portugal.
