I mean, I've got plenty of new music for the weekend. It would just be nice if Amazon would realize that no matter how shitty they make their music store, I'm not going to stream. I just want to buy and download. I'd do CDs if they had them.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
What? no. I want Em Beihold. Hand it over. I got $. Amazon: Well, you just bought an All-American Rejects album, 2 from Kid Laroi, and one from Hunter Hayes. Those count as previews and now you're at you limit. All you get is random shit. Fuck, fine. I'll get it tomorrow. 2/3
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social)
Wanting to buy some Em Beihold, yes, buy and download. Most on Pro Studio Masters. Good, I can get flacs. A few not. Her website? No, just options. iTunes? I'd have to install and uninstall after... Fine, Amazon. Amazon: Here's some completely different random streaming shit. 1/3

Yea, my neighbor helped me plant them in 2019. I was putting weekly photos of them on Facebook during the worst of the pandemic. He's moved across town, had some health problems and lost a leg. The pear had some fruit. The maples were finally giving some shade. They're not dead yet, so maybe.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
Anyway, even though my only real loss was the trees, I get it. People have brought up that I now have a nice new fence, siding, windows, garage door, and outdoor lights. And roof (NOT). But I really would rather have just saved up for the fence and skipped the time suck and stress.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
The main thing is the nagging feeling from living in a damaged house and knowing things need to be done. It's getting close though. There's one window left that needs replacing before I close out the claim. It was the wrong size when the other ones came and needed to be ordered. Should be soon.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean, things have gone about as well as one could hope for after a disaster. The insurance has been pretty good despite me only being with them a month. I changed after buying the new roof. My boss has been great about letting me take an hour here or there to deal with the repairs...

I am not a lawyer but I didn't see anything in the law preventing VPN use. It didn't seem to be aimed at users at all (directly). Also, if anyone wants a different option, I've been using NordVPN for years.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
Sometimes I want to double check Nord VPN is still good. I think it is still. Also it looks like the wonkyness was from two connections to the dedicated IP. They say you can do that if you switch protocols on one device. I just switched servers though and it's good.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
What service? I've been using Nord VPN for a long time without trouble. They have no data limits so I'll probably just stay connected all the time now. It was acting wonky on the linux box. Might be two devices on the dedicated IP server though. I moved it to another server.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social) reply parent
I happen to already have a VPN but hearing from other Mississippians is a big reason I'm here.
Karl Henderson (@karlsoap.bsky.social)
I just read the law, (not a lawyer!) and it does not seem to say anything about VPN. Or anything about restricting user behavior really. I have a VPN service already so I will continue to be here. Many won't. This sucks.
