My 4th grade teacher wrote, "needs more work in social studies." After getting my MA in history, I brought that old report card and the degree with me and asked her if I could stop there...I did, worked in museum education for 15 years, and now teach grade 7 Humanities.

As my kiddos head to our state contest this weekend with hopes of nationals on the horizon. Middle schoolers, voluntarily and eagerly doing extra academic work. This should be promoted and celebrated, not cut.

But are they acknowledging sovereignty? Because if we're looking to old laws, you could jump to the 1830s and say domestic dependent nations, under the jurisdiction of the US. Not that I agree but if we're using old decisions and laws to challenge what comes after in a ridiculous way....

Agreed, especially in the outer boroughs. But that's not going to fly in suburban NJ I'm sure. Towns have stations but people who own houses drive to those stations. Makes it harder to visit family in those places without driving.
Because not everything outside the city core is on a transit line and most the bridges and tunnels cross the congestion pricing part of the city. It was built to dump cars into that part of Manhattan to get across. Not everyone driving in Manhattan has driven to stop in Manhattan.
