Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

For Labor Day, I wanted to talk about the success of Paizo's unionization. We formed United Paizo Workers in October 2021, won voluntary recognition, and ratified our first contract in 2023. This happened because of solidarity, good union training from CWA, and empowerment of the workers.

I listened to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue earlier this year and really enjoyed it. It's an interesting twist on a Faustian bargain where she's cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. I also enjoyed Ring Shout, and am now going through This is How You Lose the Time War.
My favorite genres are thriller/psychological horror, haunted house/domestic horror, Latin American lit of all stripes, surrealism/magical realism/fabulism, and small town charming romance (friends to lovers/second chance romance especially). Recs in English, Spanish and/or French all welcome! 🍵❤️📚

Saying this again: there is a scammer out there targeting newbie authors, claiming I'm one of their clients. They use different names, and I'm already pursuing legal action.
