Tires checked and rotated! No damage from the nail, though one of my valve stems had a tiny leak (explains why I did have to put a tiny bit of air in that tire a month ago to even out my tire pressures), so great that that’s fixed now

Yeah, having to protect Echo from her severe stress-induced health issues is probably saving me from accumulating more cats inside (my land lady volunteers at the shelter, so I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t stop me 😹)
I decided to buy replacements for a couple items a few months ago (for things I *know* I will wear out in ways that can’t be repaired) to have ready to go so I don’t have to pay like $100 to replace them when the import situation gets worse. But yeah, glad I don’t have to look nice often!
Then again, replacement prices will be going up due to tariffs… ugh. But I definitely have been thinking about this (and using my sewing machine to fix/reinforce things as much as possible)
(Only price for this is time since the place I bought my tires from last year includes rotations and repairs. But better to be sure when it comes to tires!)
Because no good deed goes unpunished, currently at the tire place because I picked up a small nail last night. They don’t think it actually punctured the tire, but better safe than sorry, so they’re going to take it off to check and do a tire rotation since it was time for that anyway
I guess I’m gonna read some papers from my phone right now, because I have been very thoroughly cat trapped 😂

Someone saw his photo on here just when they were wishing for another cat! So he’s now with some very nice people in the Phoenix area! He’s got his own room at the moment to decompress and adjust to the inside life again!
Just a quick 220 mile round trip. I can’t save every cat, but I will always do what I can and I’m so so happy this handsome boy (pic from yesterday) is safe and sound inside now ❤️❤️

It's seriously annoying me to see people saying "no one can get the shot anymore!" because it is evidence of how badly misinformation has infected even folks who think they're COVID-aware. *Lots* of people fall into the high risk category. Maybe put your energy towards informing more of them of that
And they didn’t even ask me about it when I got a booster in June! Most pharmacies are pretty happy to just give you the shot.
I hate crickets so much. There is one in the sunroom and I just spent 30 minutes trying and failing to find it. It’s so damned loud but not in a way that can be triangulated

On my drive to my allergy shot I noticed somecat (my money is on Ash) was recently walking on my car and windshield 😂 there were tiny kitty prints in the dust that I hope are about to be washed away by rain!

If anyone in Tucson or Phoenix is looking for a cat, I can supply a very handsome boy who would like to not be an outside cat. He must’ve been abandoned because he’s not feral, but he wasn’t neutered until a few weeks ago when someone TNR’ed him. He is a bit scared, but definitely friendly
Omg, this is my top gripe about new cars! I sat in a parking lot for almost 20 minutes reading the manual on my 2022 just to figure out how to program preset radio stations (there were buttons that *should* have had that capability, but are reserved for fancier things apparently. Ugh)

Yep! I actually kind of hate most breakfast sausage, so wont eat most of them. But TJs has a chicken maple one that is super tasty! (Should buy two packs next time since it freezes fine) Only other one I really like is a chicken apple one from a restaurant in Washington, so that’s not an option 😂

Most of the projected decline is in out-of-state and international students as the fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 25.
I have managed to do enchiladas that held together. But it’s just not worth it, especially since I’ll mostly be eating it as leftovers which don’t hold together
We definitely can’t do nearly as much in the summer as in the winter! I ride for like 15-20 minutes max, and that’s if I get on at sunrise. If I get on later, it’s 5-10 minutes and even then I overheat

We had one of his descendants too! He was a gorgeous and very smart horse who would give you trouble at home if you didn’t ride correctly, but loved winning at shows so would always cut my brother more slack in the ring 😂
Yep. Long pants are a must! The horses are used to the heat. The one I ride tolerates it way better than I do (if we are jumping he gets mad that I need a break 😂). But we are very careful not to work the horses too hard in the heat
I don’t know how people do it! I’m just about ready to drop from the heat by like 8 or 8:30 am (which is why I have to go to the barn so early, though with overnight lows in the 80s it is rough regardless)

🚨 Major shake-up in NSF funding for K-12 STEM ed: Caps proposals at $750K max for 3 years. Prior cap used to be $5M up to 5 years for some programs. Archives several existing programs (DRK-12, AISL, CSforAll, TD, parts of ECR:Core). Combines into broad program with much lower expected # of awards.
