19) Mario Kart 7 (3DS) Basically Mario Kart 8's prototype, this entry trades some of DS' mechanical depth for only slightly less violence than the average Mario Kart, and has easily the series' most bizarre roster. The highlight is track design, but it doesn't elevate it into anything super special.

shit is not a joke btw. in ten 10 rolls i got all this. green is brand new 3*s, purple is horses i got enough materials to upgrade from the rolls. lifechanging luck actually lol.
Got tired of having no horses (only 2 natural 3*s and only 2 sprints and 2 dirts) so I impulse rolled, got super lucky, and now I have a ton of horses. I have so many horses that its almost like playing a new game now.

I think its level design isn't inherently bad, but its like the same 3-4 concepts mixed around slightly differently 25 times. when i read about the dev history (unfinished saturn sonic concept re-packaged by a b-team) it made alot more sense.

18) Knuckles Chaotix (Sega 32X) A frankly unfinished tag-team platformer whose biggest achievement is inspiring Sonic Heroes. The tether mechanic is genuinely sick, but the level design is insanely same-y and unmemorable. Not good by any objective measure, but I had good fun with it despite that.
A factor that affects my enjoyment of FGs that I didn't realize until is character popularity. I like DFCI more than UNI2 for sure, but my least favorite characters are REALLY common picks in DFCI whereas I don't particularly mind the most common characters I run into in UNI2.
"how do I explain lesbians to my kids" and "the internet needs to be censored so my stupid kid can be on it" is cut from the same root in that some parents just fucking hate the idea of needing to interact with their kids in any way and want them to just bang on the ipad and shut the fuck up
