Also seen at the thrift store yesterday: several early aughts MacAddict and Macworld magazines. This really was the peak time to be a Mac or OS X enthusiast. Not necessarily from a performance or hardware quality standpoint but for what the community was actually doing. I miss those days.

Got a CL alert on Wednesday when somebody local posted an ad for this Atari Mega ST2 for $100. Only a five minute drive away, and it came with the box and everything except a mouse. Worked perfectly and the seller was a retro/vintage fan who talked plenty of shop.

I probably need some of a firewire model (mine's a tangerine), like a close-up of the port or plugging in a cable.

Apple's official spec sheet say the Color Classic II has 256K of onboard VRAM. They also say the LC 550, which is supposed to use the same logic board, has 512K. How can that be? Has the knowledge base spec sheet been wrong all these years? Let's find out together.

Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Satin Heirloom White. It's not a perfect match but it's a lot closer than either of my filaments. A shade too bright and warm but for an off-the-shelf paint it's close enough. I might consider ordering a can of RAL 1013 to try some day, that'd probably be the best match.
