Opal Nelson, a 22-year-old in New York, said the more she learns about smart glasses, the angrier she becomes. Meta Ray-Bans have a light that turns on when the gadget is recording video, but she said it doesn’t seem to protect people from being recorded without consent. She worries about her retail job at a Manhattan tourist destination — if a customer is taking pictures with a phone, she can step out of the frame, she said, but glasses make it impossible to avoid the shot. She also frequently sees videos on social media of men approaching women on the street and recording them without permission using smart glasses. “All these girls are coming on [TikTok] saying, ‘I didn’t know that I was being posted. I didn’t know I was being recorded.’ And now there’s more and more tutorials showing people how to cover up the [warning light] and still allow you to record,” Nelson said.

The judge found that the driver, who drove through a 20-second-stale red light and killed an infant, was "not guilty of dangerous driving causing death" 🤯 because it was just a "momentary lapse of attention." Just a single lapse, in addition to these other momentary lapses:

The federal NDP booth at the rural fair (where they held the seat for decades until 2025) had one older dude and a single stack of leaflets on an otherwise empty table.

The first to starve to death in all famines are children, & the first children to starve to death are those with other conditions. All the help needed to prevent these deaths is at the border, held up. Stop justifying starvation. Lift the siege. Let the life-saving help in.

The Gaza Famine is the world’s famine. A preventable, predictable famine. Enough. Ceasefire. Open all crossings, north and south. Let us get food in, unimpeded and at massive scale.

PLEASE REPOST 🥺🙏 The Canadian Letters & Images Project is an online digital archive of Canadians’ experience during wartime at home & in battle. It contains thousands of personal letters & photos that reveal people’s experience through their own words & eyes. www.canadianletters.ca/content/abou...

The homepage for the Canadian letters and images project. It shows soldiers posing for a photograph and there is a search bar in the centre. In the about section below, which cannot be seen in this image, it provides this information: The Canadian Letters and Images Project, created in 2000, is an online digital archive of the Canadian war experience, both home front and battlefront, from any conflict in which Canadians have participated. The focus of the project is on the personal materials of participants, such as letters and photographs, which permit us to experience the war through their eyes and their words. These are very often the stories of ordinary Canadians, largely forgotten and overlooked. Our mission is to digitally preserve and continue to make freely accessible this important part of Canada’s heritage for this generation and future generations. The vision of the project is to continue to expand this repository of Canadian archival materials by collaborating with Canadians to preserve and share the individual and collective stories that have shaped our past Accessibility to the past is key to understanding who we are as a nation. We are committed to free access for everyone to the materials of the project. All collections are of equal importance. Every letter, photograph, or other artifact has an important story to tell. The collections and their contents are not edited or censored. Our role as historians is not to judge the past in light of the present, but to present everything in its entirety at the time of its creation.

The government of Canada has a questionnaire about it's new budget. Most of the given options are conservative (because this is a conservative government) but there are some that aren't, and you can write in your own responses. www.canada.ca/en/departmen...
