The bill doesn't attack elections. But it turns ICE into a personal army for the president who already encouraged J6. Okay, back to the cognitive dissonance of trying to think about anything other than this.
It feels really weird to be awake during... do we call this one the death rattle? While so few people are up. All those "moderate" Republicans and only one had a spine. I know black swan events occur, sometimes for good not evil, but I'm finding it hard to imagine how elections survive this bill.
Yeah. Rules of governing bodies are insanely complicated, usually in the name of democracy. But a house of Congress being able to hold a vote open until the leader has bullied or bribed people into switching their votes is... not democracy.
The rule passed to allow them to begin debate, so now they're "debating" ... then they'll vote again and that vote will be on the bill itself.
