You most likely care about animals. If so, it might be worth considering not putting their body parts between two slices of bread and eating them.

The best thing about defensive non-vegans is their thoroughly researched, exhaustively comprehensive knowledge of farming systems, land management, biology, nutrition, history, geography, capitalism, ethics, disability, nature, psychology, & activism. As a former non-vegan, I speak from experience.
Bullfighting torments & kills animals for people's enjoyment. Abolish it. Dogfighting exploits & harms dogs for people's enjoyment. Prison too good for them. Fox hunting terrorises & kills animals for people's enjoyment. End it. Dairy exploits & kills animals for my enjoyment. Long may it continue.
Things non-vegans strongly dislike: - animal cruelty - people who are consistently against animal cruelty - video footage of animal cruelty - people who obtain video footage of animal cruelty

Somebody asked how people could eat these beautiful creatures. "Because they taste good" was your answer. Your words. You are literally describing enjoyment — your taste bud pleasure. It's telling that you infer judgement, or implication that you're a "monster", from that. I agree they taste good.

Realise it wasn't me you asked, but: the animals to which you refer have no choice, nor moral agency. For them it is a matter of survival — an unavoidable necessity.

We can choose to let them live.

One can also avoid the moral gymnastics, excuses and qualifiers, and simply (never) eat them.

Yeah, I have so many familial/cultural traditions around food. I find a way to continue them while reducing harm where I can. Much of this stuff is symbolic — it's the ritual that counts. We can have "fish & chips", in a way that fulfils our traditions, without killing fish.
I suppose it was an aside to your aside — my own anecdotal observation in response to yours. As to your main point, what people eat is their business, but when it's destroying the planet I have to live on, and supporting avoidable harm to animals and humans, I'm allowed to notice and comment on it.
It's definitely *normalised*. The dairy industry is necessarily, systemically cruel — and many folk merely don't know about it. I didn't, until it was explained to me. Normal does not always mean good!
I don't see the queues of SUVs at the McDonald's and KFC drive-thrus getting noticeably shorter. I'll grant that this is anecdotal.
By the same token, we can learn about the harms our preferences might support — and adapt our actions accordingly — without taking it as a personal attack, or abandoning our identity, traditions, and culture.
It's when there are victims and avoidable cruelty and stuff.

I have no inclination to block you. For whatever it's worth, with a few exceptions, I only block people who engage in conversation in bad faith. It tends to be someone making reasonable points, which I'm happy to discuss, who then reveals that they're only interested in time-wasting dickheadery. 🤷♂️
With the small note that I've never said "meat is murder," where is the militancy? IIRC you *wished death* on people who harm animals, no? Is that not rather more extreme? I certainly haven't done that, and don't do that. I haven't even — to the best of my memory — told anyone they should be vegan.

Baby cows should not be shot in the head, and then allowed to gradually grow up and live their life. People pretend they think this animal cruelty is irrelevant, yet this is what happens to produce Maltesers. I'm annoying? Killing baby animals for crappy, trivial treats is annoying.

I don't actually believe that most people think mayonnaise from a squeezy bottle is worth killing newborn baby chicks for (which is what happens). Thankfully, plantbased mayo is widely available in supermarkets etc. There's even a Hellman's one. (Although fuck Unilever, etc.)
You could replace them with plantbased "chicken" tenders, and no bastard would tell the difference.

Chickens are the most abused animal on the planet. They are sensitive, characterful creatures with individual personalities. They are affectionate, curious & playful. Their suffering has become normalised to the point of invisibility — an afterthought in a social media post. We can eat other things.
