A Labor Day reminder: today there isn't a single city, metro area, or state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment. Millions of people with jobs—even multiple jobs—aren't safe from homelessness in this country.

Four panel cartoon. First panel has female presenting white person with long dark hair, glasses and a green shirt saying “today we are going to learn about insurance!” Second panel has woman talking to the edge of a brown desk, with bubble that reads “hey insurance, I am injured and I need some of that money I give you for in case I get injured.” Third panels is the woman sitting at a desk with a nameplate reading “insurance.” She wears a black top hat and a gold necklace with a dollar sign, and piles of bags with dollar signs on them are behind her. The bubble above her head says “no.” The fourth panel has the woman back to regular dress saying “and that is how insurance works!”

Baffled by those who oppose traffic cameras because they “sacrifice the safety of our immigrant neighbors.” The alternative is for police officers to pull people over. Do you really think that’s safer for immigrants?

Wrote a first draft of my talking points. I may edit it down

You call yourself an environmental activist? You’re worried about the environmental impact of a god damn solar farm? Let’s look at what the current state of affairs has gotten. Oh would you look at that? Indiana fucking sucks when it comes to the natural environment, ranking 37th and 50th in air and water quality respectively. Let me spell this out for you: The top causes of air pollution are (1) transportation - currently this farm produces corn for ethanol which is a dirty way to move things around - and (2) coal/oil burning for electricity - I don’t think I need to explain how getting power from the sun is better for the air than burning coal, but maybe that’s being too damn generous to you idiots. The number one cause of water pollution is farm runoff - this farm grows #2 commodity dent corn that requires massive amounts of fertilizer and herbicide to grow, that shit goes in our water and makes it so that 70% of Indiana’s waterways are too dangerous to swim in. If you’re worried about losing farmland. There’s good news: this solar project will preserve the farmland - in fact it will still be used to raise sheep, which last time I checked is agriculture. Indeed it will give the land a rest from the strip mine industrial farming that’s been going on there for decades. And bonus: while doing so, it will produce 30x more energy on a per-acre basis. 1 acre of solar for a year can power an electric vehicle for over 800,000 miles. The same acre of ethanol can power a car for less than 10,000 miles. If you give a shit about the environment, you should be fighting to convert every ethanol field to solar. It’ll be better for air quality, it’ll be better for water quality, and it’ll produce more 30x more energy in the process. But you don’t give a fuck about that. You’re hiding behind your fake-ass concern for the environment. That or you’re just a fucking idiot. Either way, fuck off.

100% - one of my pet peeves (and I’m sure I’m guilty of it too) is anything that pits generations against one another. It is a right wing tactic to divide people. We need more generational solidarity, not blame.

Come to think of it, I saved a butterfly once, and it flapped its wings, preventing 100 pre-wars. So I’m 10x better than Trump + 3

Yes. No joke we should 3x every city in the country. It’d be a massive boom and add mutual prosperity

This completely goes against their argument that “people in the districts choose their reps”

Suburbs will get hurt too - Carmel schools will lose $11.5 million Rural areas too - Converse, IN (pop ~ 1000) is going to lose 1/3 of its town budget AND 1/3 of its library budget. Absolutely devastating
