A gold sword pommel from the Griffin Warrior’s grave at Pylos. This is called “gold embroidery”, made by fitting small (1 cm) L shaped pieces of gold over a form, polishing, then etching w/a design (zoom in). Very high status, amazing craftsmanship.❤️ My photos.

For people who don't know, Culver City is part of LA County. It snuggles up to West LA in the north and Venice to the west. In LAese: that area immediately south of the 10 and east of the 405.

In Holland, in the 60s, people noticed us (4 little girls, like their queen) Someone asked "Are you 🇺🇸?" My father: No, we're 🇨🇦 "The 🇨🇦s liberated us!" Dad: Yes, I know. I was one of those soldiers. They threw their arms around my Dad, hugging him and thanking him, over & over Me: My daddy's a hero!
There were MANY more people than I expected! Everyone was smiling, happy to be able to do SOMETHING positive. Much easier than downtown. I stayed until my knees said "Stupid, go home!"

Nana in LA here: LA is NOT a "war zone". Nothing is burning. There are no riots. It's quiet. I hear birds singing. People are PEACEFULLY protesting in areas where they see ordinary, hard-working, people being taken away, desaparecidos/disappeared. The 405 and the 10 are, as usual, shitty.

I'm a Nana who lives in Los Angeles: the governor is correct. The Mayor has just announced a curfew for downtown LA, about 1 square mile in a city of aprox. 500 square miles. The rest of the city is quiet. Traffic is, as always, crappy.

I live in West Los Angeles. Everything is quiet, people just going about their business, no smoke to be seen. This is a city of immigrants: people are upset by the cruel provocations and, while there are smaller protests, are preparing for large peaceful protests on Saturday.
